7 Tips to Help You Set and Achieve Your Goals the Right Way
Achieve your goals the right way. You want to make sure you’re doing it the right way so that you can look back and see how far you’ve come and how much of your dream you were able to realize.
If you find yourself struggling with making and keeping your goals, here are some of the most common mistakes people make when setting and achieving their goals, along with tips on how to do it right.
1) Have One Big Goal
One of the biggest mistakes people make when setting goals is not picking one goal.
The reason for this is simple: if you have a lot of goals, you are likely to end up not achieving any of them. If you have only one goal, then you will be able to commit more time and energy to that goal because your focus will be on it.
2) Make a plan to achieve it
1. Become confident in your abilities. When you believe in yourself, it becomes easier to achieve your goals. Believe that you are capable of anything.
2. Create a plan. Create a goal-specific plan with deadlines, tasks, and rewards that match up with what is important to you and where you want to be at the end of this period of time.
This will allow you to assess when things are going off track or if obstacles have cropped up so that changes can be made before it’s too late for things not to work out for you in achieving your goal.
3) Reward Yourself
One of the most important steps in achieving your goals is rewarding yourself. Figure out what makes you happy and use that as a reward for finishing a goal.
For example, if one of your New Year’s resolutions is to go on a date with someone new, figure out what going on a date entails (maybe not being home all night because you might want to meet someone at 8 pm) and put those types of restrictions into place for yourself.
One way to keep this from feeling too restrictive is setting up three milestones instead of one–say something like I’ll set two dates when I complete 50% or 75% of my goal.
4) Stay Positive and Achieve Your Goals
Your goals may seem out of reach at first, but if you set your mind on achieving them and stay motivated, they will become more doable. Use these seven tips to help you achieve your goals:
1. Be Realistic – Setting unrealistic goals might seem like a great way to reach your desired outcome in less time, but setting realistic goals that are manageable will allow you more success as well as build up your confidence along the way.
2. Focus on Why You Want It – If there’s no way then there’s no how; think about what led you up until this point in achieving your goal, it should be easy for you at this point because of everything that happened before it.

5) Write it Down
Setting goals is one thing, but actually achieving them is another. Here are seven tips that can help you achieve your goals more effectively.
Focus on one goal at a time. While it’s important to work towards multiple goals, it will be easier to focus on and accomplish any one goal when you aren’t trying so hard on others as well.
Plus, having more than one goal also means making choices about which ones are most important to pursue at this moment in time.
6) Take Action to Achieve Your Goals
You might not be able to achieve your goals all at once, but one of these tips is sure to help you take that first step.
Take time for self-reflection. The trickiest part of achieving your goals may be determining what they are in the first place. Reflect on what you want from life, career, relationships – anything and everything.
Once you’ve identified your key goal(s), make a plan for how you’ll achieve them – identify steps or milestones you can measure progress by (e.g., a physical fitness goal would have specific measurable benchmarks). Put into practice all that self-reflection!
Ask yourself why? Make it crystal clear why this goal is important enough to work towards until completion.
7) If Don’t Give Up You Can Achieve Your Goals
Don’t Give Up. You got this! Keep working hard and soon enough you’ll achieve your goals. From now on every time you feel like giving up, stop yourself and tell yourself Don’t give up!
Remember that no matter how tough things may get, they can always get better if you just keep working hard.
1) Don’t compare yourself to others because no one has gone through the same journey as you. Everyone’s journey is different so instead of trying to fit in, be proud of who you are.
2) Think about why it is that your goal seems so important to you.
