Shiny Object Syndrome, or SOC, is something that every affiliate marketer faces at some point in their career, whether they know it or not.
That’s because it’s hard to focus on your business when you’re constantly being bombarded with new opportunities and new products to promote.
But if you don’t learn how to resist the temptation to chase every shiny object that comes along, you could easily throw away your hard-earned gains and sink back into debt—or even lose money!
Shiny object syndrome is the term for someone constantly switching their marketing efforts because they’re not satisfied with the results.
Switching between platforms, strategies and learning about a new platform or software tool, are all examples of someone falling victim to Shiny Object Syndrome.
However, in order to be successful with affiliate marketing, you have to commit and stick with one platform or strategy until you know it inside out.
What most people don’t realize is that the time spent researching other platforms and understanding them will actually help them get more results if they do decide to switch methods.
In other words, too much information can actually help us make better decisions!

Be proactive about generating links by commenting on blogs, linking posts, and developing valuable content for social media platforms.
It can be easy to fall victim to Shiny Object Syndrome. In essence, this is where you feel like you need the latest app, course, or product.
You’re looking for something that’s going to make a huge difference in your life with minimal effort and investment on your part.
Remember: everything requires work and investment.
There is no easy way out. Just because a product or strategy worked for one person doesn’t mean it will work for everyone.
